How can I obtain cancer information at Mayo Clinic?

Mayo Clinic offers cancer information to patients and visitors through brochures, books, pamphlets, journals, DVDs and the Internet. For access to these resources, ask your health care provider or visit the Patient and Health Education Library.

When can I visit the Patient and Health Education Library?

The Patient and Health Education Library is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The center is free and open to patients, their families and the public.

Will someone be available to help me?

A medical librarian/registered nurse can assist visitors with information searches and questions.

Do I need to know how to use the computer to access information?

Mayo Clinic has material available on the computer, as well as pamphlets, books, DVDs and journals. The librarian can help visitors search the Internet for cancer information.

How can I learn about resources in my own community?

An American Cancer Society Navigator can discuss resources available in your community. Ask your health care provider for more information or search the Internet to connect to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society.

Where can I find information regarding clinical trials?

The Patient and Health Education Library has Internet access for general clinical trials information. Ask your health care provider about Mayo Clinic trials that may be appropriate.
