When can I visit the Cancer Education Room?

The William and Nancy Juhn Cancer Education Room is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The center is free and open to Mayo Clinic patients, their families and the public.

Will someone be available to help me?

Mayo believes that knowledge about cancer helps patients participate more effectively in their care. Volunteers can to assist visitors with information searches. An oncology nurse is also available to answer specific questions.

Can materials be checked out from the Cancer Education Room?

Brochures, books, pamphlets, journals, and the Internet are available for visitors to use in the Cancer Education Room.

Do I need to know how to use the computer to access information?

The Cancer Education Room has material available on the computer, as well as pamphlets, books and journals. Volunteers are happy to help visitors search the Internet for cancer information.

How can I learn about resources in my own community?

The volunteers in the Cancer Education Room can connect you to your local chapter of the American Cancer Society to discuss resources available.

Does the Cancer Education Room have information regarding clinical trials?

Cancer Education Room volunteers can provide you with materials and Internet access regarding general clinical trials. Ask your health care provider about Mayo Clinic trials that may be appropriate.
