Bronchoscopy

Bronchoscopy is a procedure to see inside your lungs. During bronchoscopy, you receive a medicine to numb your throat and a lighted tube (bronchoscope) is inserted in your mouth. The tube is moved down your throat and into your lung. Your doctor closely examines your lung tissue by looking through the tube or by watching a video screen. Special tools can be passed through the tube to collect samples of lung tissue.
