Breast Cancer

Mammotome

The Mammotome system is a minimally invasive breast biopsy technique. A radiologist, guided by X-ray or ultrasound images, inserts a probe into the area of concern. The probe vacuums, cuts and removes tissue samples for examination. Multiple samples may be taken. A titanium marker may be embedded at the site of the biopsy for future identification.
