Care Team Roles

An integrated team of doctors trained in many medical specialties and other staff works together to ensure favorable outcomes from your blood and marrow transplant.

Your transplant team may include doctors trained in blood diseases and cancers (hematologists), doctors trained in cancer (oncologists), mental health specialists (psychologists and psychiatrists), a bone marrow transplant (BMT) scheduling coordinator, transfusion medicine nurses, trained and specialized nurses, physician assistants, social workers, a BMT nurse coordinator, a clinical nurse specialist, a dietitian, pharmacists, and a chaplain.
