Overview

Primary bone cancer, which is uncommon, begins in a bone. Bone cancer can arise in any bone in the body, but most commonly affects the long bones of the arms and legs. Primary bone cancer does not include cancers that start elsewhere in the body and spread to the bones, or blood cell cancers, such as leukemia, that begin in the bone marrow.
