Mayo Clinic works with hundreds of insurance companies and is an in-network provider for millions of people. In most cases, Mayo Clinic doesn't require a physician referral. Some insurers require referrals or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.

At Mayo Clinic in Florida, specialists see adults with bipolar disorder if a Mayo Clinic doctor is treating them for other medical conditions and refers them to psychiatry and psychology.

Minnesota

Specialists in psychiatry and psychology at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota treat children and adults with bipolar disorder. Mayo Clinic in Minnesota has a Mood Clinic and a Mood Disorders Unit to help care for adults with bipolar disorder.

At Mayo Clinic in Minnesota, child and adolescent psychiatrists have experience and expertise in diagnosing and treating bipolar disorder. Mayo Clinic specialists create a personalized treatment plan and assist with developing an education plan to address your child's needs.

The treatment team works closely with you and your child to provide extensive education about managing this disorder. The team can also teach stress management techniques and other tools to empower your child to cope with this lifelong illness. When your child leaves Mayo Clinic, Mayo will consult with your hometown doctor to adjust the treatment plan as needed.
