Interpreter Services

Interpreter speaking with patient

If you feel more comfortable speaking a language other than English, Mayo Clinic offers interpreters for all languages. Interpreters are available in person for many languages, and through telephone services for all others.

When scheduling your visit, tell Mayo Clinic registration staff or your appointment secretary that you will need an interpreter. There is no charge for interpreters.

Services for people with hearing impairments

Sign language interpreters are available to our patients. If you need this service, please indicate this on your registration form or tell the person scheduling the appointment.

Some telephones in the clinic have volume controls for patients with hearing impairments. Telecommunications Devices for the Deaf (TDD) service is also available. Information desk staff in the Mayo Building, on the first floor or subway level, can tell you where these telephones are located.
