Many people make an appointment for a preliminary evaluation at Mayo Clinic in Rochester that may last two to three days. For people from out of town, Mayo Clinic will often then refer them to a doctor in their hometown who will complete the rest of the evaluation. Then the person returns to Rochester for the surgery.
