Mayo Clinic's campus in Jacksonville has a dedicated Bariatric Center to help people struggling with obesity take control of their weight. The Mayo Clinic team has a combined experience of more than 30 years in caring for bariatric surgery patients.

Treatment Team

The Mayo Clinic bariatric health care team consists of a bariatrician (obesity medicine specialist), registered dietitian, clinical psychologist, registered nurse and surgeon. Specialists from Cardiology, Pulmonology, Endocrinology, the Sleep Disorders Clinic and other areas are available, as needed.

Evaluation

The process usually takes about three to eight months from the initial appointment to actually having surgery. The preliminary evaluation for bariatric surgery in Jacksonville is usually completed in one day.
