Anyone can request an appointment at Mayo Clinic. If a physician referral is required, our appointment staff will advise you. Some insurers require referrals, or may have additional requirements for certain medical care. All appointments are prioritized on the basis of medical need.

Minnesota

To make an appointment for bariatric surgery evaluation, call a phone number listed below. From the initial appointment to having surgery takes about three to six months. A preliminary evaluation at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota may last two to three days. Mayo Clinic will often refer people from out of town to a doctor in their hometown to complete the evaluation. The patient then returns to Rochester for surgery.
