Posturography

Posturography tells the physician which parts of the balance system (visual, vestibular or somatosensory) the patient relies on the most and which parts may cause problems. The patient stands in bare feet on a special platform and simply keeps their balance under various conditions. Mayo takes precautions to make sure this test is entirely safe so that the patient cannot fall. The information derived from this test can be helpful in planning treatment, which may include vestibular rehabilitation.
