Treatment in Florida

The Electrophysiology (EP) and Cardiac Device Services at Mayo Clinic in Florida specialize in the treatment of adults with all types of heart rhythm disorders. Nationally-recognized electrophysiologists (cardiologists with specialized training in the in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders) staff the EP services. The integrated team also includes cardiologists who specialize in imaging and interventional techniques and cardiothoracic surgeons.

The services' staff takes a patient-centered, team approach. Staff use the newest, most advanced technologies that offer patients the most accurate and comprehensive treatment for their heart rhythm problems. The Electrophysiology Lab also conducts extensive research programs, and patients have access to emerging technology through clinical trials.

Electrophysiologists perform electrophysiology testing and catheter ablation to diagnose and treat atrial fibrillation and other heart rhythm disorders. They also implant cardiac devices to treat slow heart rates, life-threatening heart rhythms and heart failure. Procedures are performed in a state-of-the-art lab by a specially trained, dedicated staff.

Treatment involves electrophysiologists in Mayo Clinic in Florida's Electrophysiology Lab in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases.
