Atherosclerosis

Mayo Clinic researchers are involved in two levels of research into early onset atherosclerosis:

  • Basic research to identify novel and emerging factors that increase the risk of heart disease
  • Clinical research to develop new treatments and approaches to reducing the risk of heart attack and other medical problems caused by atherosclerosis
