Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Bloating or swelling of the face, arms, hands, lower legs, or feet
  2. chest pain or discomfort
  3. lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
  4. rapid weight gain
  5. slow or irregular heartbeat
  6. tingling of the hands or feet
  7. trouble breathing
  8. unusual tiredness or weakness
  9. unusual weight gain or loss

Incidence not known

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. chills
  4. cold sweats
  5. coma
  6. confusion
  7. cool, pale skin
  8. depression
  9. fast heartbeat
  10. headache
  11. increased hunger
  12. nausea
  13. nervousness
  14. nightmares
  15. persistent non-healing sore
  16. pink growth
  17. reddish patch or irritated area
  18. seizures
  19. shakiness
  20. shiny bump
  21. slurred speech
  22. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area

Get emergency help immediately if any of the following symptoms of overdose occur:

Symptoms of overdose

  1. Anxiety
  2. blurred vision
  3. burning, crawling, itching, numbness, prickling, "pins and needles", or tingling feelings
  4. change in consciousness
  5. chills
  6. cold, clammy skin
  7. cold sweats
  8. confusion as to time, place, or person
  9. cool, pale skin
  10. cough
  11. decrease in amount of urine
  12. depression
  13. dilated neck veins
  14. dizziness, faintness, or lightheadedness when getting up suddenly from a lying or sitting position
  15. drowsiness
  16. dry mouth
  17. fast or pounding heartbeat or pulse
  18. fast, weak pulse
  19. frequent urination
  20. holding false beliefs that cannot be changed by fact
  21. increased hunger
  22. increased thirst
  23. increased volume of pale, dilute urine
  24. irregular breathing
  25. irritability
  26. loss of appetite
  27. loss of consciousness
  28. mood changes
  29. muscle pain or cramps
  30. nausea or vomiting
  31. nervousness
  32. nightmares
  33. no breathing
  34. noisy breathing
  35. not able to pass urine
  36. numbness or tingling in the hands, feet, or lips
  37. pain or aching in the lower legs
  38. seeing, hearing, or feeling things that are not there
  39. seizures
  40. shakiness
  41. slurred speech
  42. sweating
  43. swelling of the face, hands, fingers, feet, ankles, or lower legs
  44. tightness in the chest
  45. trembling
  46. unconsciousness
  47. unusual drowsiness, dullness, or feeling of sluggishness
  48. unusual excitement, nervousness, or restlessness
  49. very drowsy or sleepy
  50. weakness and heaviness of legs
  51. weight gain

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

Less common

  1. Acid or sour stomach
  2. belching
  3. decreased interest in sexual intercourse
  4. diarrhea
  5. difficulty with moving
  6. heartburn
  7. inability to have or keep an erection
  8. indigestion
  9. joint pain
  10. loss in sexual ability, desire, drive, or performance
  11. muscle aching or stiffness
  12. sleepiness
  13. stomach discomfort, upset, or pain
  14. swollen joints

Rare

  1. Runny or stuffy nose
  2. sneezing
