Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

More common

  1. Bloody urine
  2. chest tightness
  3. depression, indentation, or thickening of the skin at the injection site
  4. difficult or painful urination
  5. dryness or redness of the eye
  6. fast heartbeat
  7. fever
  8. hives, itching, skin rash
  9. hoarseness
  10. irritation
  11. joint pain, stiffness, or swelling
  12. nausea
  13. pain in the groin or genitals
  14. redistribution or accumulation of body fat
  15. redness of the skin
  16. seeing floating dark spots or material before the eyes
  17. sharp back pain just below the ribs
  18. swelling of the eyelids, face, lips, hands, or feet
  19. trouble breathing or swallowing
  20. vomiting

Rare

  1. Chills
  2. clay-colored stools
  3. confusion
  4. dark urine
  5. diarrhea
  6. dizziness
  7. fever
  8. headache
  9. irregular heartbeat
  10. loss of appetite
  11. mood or mental changes
  12. muscle cramps in the hands, arms, feet, legs, or face
  13. numbness and tingling around the mouth, fingertips, or feet
  14. seizures
  15. stomach cramps or pain
  16. tremor
  17. unpleasant breath odor
  18. unusual tiredness or weakness
  19. vomiting of blood
  20. yellow eyes or skin

Incidence not known

  1. Increased troubled breathing
  2. increased difficulty walking
  3. new pain or swelling in the arms or legs without any injury

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Bleeding, blistering, burning, coldness, discoloration of the skin, feeling of pressure, hives, infection, inflammation, itching, lumps, numbness, pain, rash, redness, scarring, soreness, stinging, swelling, tenderness, tingling, ulceration, or warmth at the injection site
