Side Effects

Along with its needed effects, a medicine may cause some unwanted effects. Although not all of these side effects may occur, if they do occur they may need medical attention.

Check with your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

Less common

  1. Black, tarry stools
  2. bleeding gums
  3. blood in the urine or stools
  4. burning or stinging of skin
  5. chills
  6. cough
  7. diarrhea
  8. fever
  9. general feeling of discomfort or illness
  10. headache
  11. joint pain
  12. loss of appetite
  13. muscle aches and pains
  14. nausea
  15. painful blisters on the trunk of the body
  16. painful cold sores or blisters on the lips, nose, eyes, or genitals
  17. pinpoint red spots on the skin
  18. runny nose
  19. shivering
  20. sore throat
  21. stomach pain
  22. sweating
  23. trouble sleeping
  24. unusual bleeding or bruising
  25. unusual tiredness or weakness
  26. vomiting

Rare

  1. Blistering, burning, crusting, dryness, or flaking of the skin
  2. blurred vision
  3. dizziness
  4. itching, scaling, severe redness, soreness, or swelling of the skin
  5. nervousness
  6. pounding in the ears
  7. red rash with watery, yellow-colored, or pus filled blisters
  8. slow or fast heartbeat
  9. thick yellow to honey-colored crusts

Incidence not known

  1. Chest pain or tightness
  2. persistent non-healing sore
  3. pink growth
  4. reddish patch or irritated area
  5. seeing flashes or sparks of light
  6. seeing floating spots before the eyes, or a veil or curtain appearing across part of vision
  7. white, yellow or waxy scar-like area
  8. shiny bump

Some side effects may occur that usually do not need medical attention. These side effects may go away during treatment as your body adjusts to the medicine. Also, your health care professional may be able to tell you about ways to prevent or reduce some of these side effects. Check with your health care professional if any of the following side effects continue or are bothersome or if you have any questions about them:

More common

  1. Stuffy nose

Less common

  1. Bladder pain
  2. blemishes on the skin
  3. difficult, burning, or painful urination
  4. frequent urge to urinate
  5. lower back or side pain
  6. pimple
