Mayo Clinic is a leader and active participant in clinical and laboratory research activities related to aortic aneurysm.
Many studies have established groundwork for the basic understanding of aortic aneurysm, and new studies are under way. Current research studies include investigation of different endovascular devices for the treatment of aortic aneurysms, outcome studies to assess results of open and endovascular surgery and natural history studies to evaluate the need to repair small abdominal aortic aneurysms well before they reach a large size and tend to rupture.
