In the past year, we opened The Mayo Clinic Multidisciplinary Simulation Center, which simulates real-life patient care situations, giving health care professionals the unprecedented opportunity to practice on computerized mannequins that bleed, cry, stop breathing, require difficult intubations and present all the challenges of real patients.
Another example of innovation was Mayo Clinic's presentation on atrial fibrillation in the popular online virtual community Second Life™.
