Anatomic Pathology in Minnesota

Immunostains Laboratory

The Immunostains laboratory performs immunohistochemical testing on approximately 1000 paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue section slides each day. Specimens are received from surgical pathology, bone marrow, cytology, Mayo Clinic practices, and consultative practice. Testing is focused on diagnostic protein (antigens) markers and predictive/prognostic markers. The laboratory offers over 200 unique tests and utilizes optimized automation and detection systems. The clinical testing is supported by an active development initiative which is comprised of experienced scientific staff and led by the Laboratory Director.
