Allergic Diseases in Minnesota

Sinusitis

The Sinusitis Interest Group diagnoses and treats sinusitis, one of the most-reported chronic diseases in the United States.

An allergy specialist gathers a comprehensive history and performs a physical examination. This will include reviewing of outside information provided by the patient.

The patient may require a rhinoscopy, which is a visualization of the nasal passageways, sinuses and upper airway with a fiberoptic scope. Allergy testing may also be added to evaluate whether an allergen is contributing to the sinusitis.

Follow-Up

Regular follow-up appointments can be done at daily, weekly, monthly, or other intervals as necessary. Acute same-day visits are available during the week. An allergy physician is available 24 hours a day for emergencies.
