Allergic Diseases in Minnesota

Drug Allergies

Physicians in the Mayo Clinic Division of Allergic Diseases evaluate drug reactions and drug allergies. During an evaluation, the allergist will take a comprehensive history and perform a physical examination. The patient may be asked to undergo skin testing or blood testing. In certain circumstances, challenge tests might be performed.

If drug allergy is diagnosed, the allergist outlines a management program. There will be discussions about possible risks and benefits of medication.
