The Administrative Fellowship Program offers the flexibility to accommodate your interests within a framework of continuous learning. It consists of six to eight rotations in areas such as finance, human resources, systems and procedures, quality, research, education, hospital operations, clinical operations and general administration. Additional benefits include the following:

  • Rotations are jointly developed by you and your administrative preceptor.
  • Responsibilities and assignments are primarily project oriented.
  • Staff mentors provide performance assessments focused on characteristics of a successful administrator, such as managerial skills, judgment, initiative, credibility, creativity and leadership.

Department of Finance
  • Develop operational plans and budgets for clinical departments
  • Assist with organizational redesign of Division of Admissions and Business Services
  • Develop performance monitoring dashboard for Medical Revenue Systems
  • Develop billing processes map to identify major improvement opportunities
Systems and Procedures
  • Support electronic medical record project — automated patient itinerary
  • Lead team in developing proposal for telecommunicating site
  • Develop new procedures for Rochester Methodist Hospital patient receiving unit
  • Evaluate space requirements for Gonda Vascular Center
Department of Human Resources
  • Develop performance management tools
  • Measure activity analysis of benefits information
  • Support clinical department staff recruitment
  • Assist with Administrative Fellowship Program recruitment and selection activities
