Administrative Fellowship Program Eligibility

Mayo seeks diverse candidates from strong masters-level accredited programs. Competition for this program is intense and selection is a challenging exercise in discerning those "best suited," while striving for diverse skill sets, background, work experience and interests.

Qualified candidates for the Administrative Fellowship Program:

Are Masters-prepared individuals who have completed the degree requirements or are degree candidates in one or more of the following fields of study or related degree programs:

  • Health Services Administration
  • Hospital Administration
  • Public Administration
  • Business Administration

Candidates who are on schedule to complete their degree before the July start date will be accepted.

Have experience within the health care industry, such as:

  • Internship
  • Externship
  • Fellowship
  • Employment

Possess broad knowledge of current and historical perspectives of the health care industry that can include:

  • Business management/administration
  • Clinical practice management
  • Clinical research and education
  • Hospital administration/management
  • Finance, human resources/organizational development
  • Information systems
  • Managed care

Have traits and behaviors which include:

  • The need to be challenged at a high level
  • Energetic, hard-working, ambitious and self-starter
  • Flexibility and willingness to assume a variety of role assignments and deal effectively with ambiguity
  • Objective and insightful
  • Service, team, and learning orientation
  • Understanding and commitment to cultural competency and diversity in the workplace and in the practice of health care
