Addiction Treatment at Mayo Clinic

Overview

For more than 35 years, Mayo Clinic has provided addiction treatment for people addicted to alcohol, prescription medications or illegal drugs. The goal of Mayo's addiction programs is to help patients and their families with their ongoing journey to recovery.

Mayo Clinic specializes in helping patients both with their addiction and with any underlying mental health disorder, such as depression or bipolar disorder. At Mayo, a psychiatrist and an addiction counselor will develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient that addresses the addiction, emotional problems and any active medical problems.

Generose Building exterior

The addiction programs are located in the Generose Building, on the Saint Marys Hospital campus.

Mayo Clinic's addiction treatment services are coordinated and supervised by a physician (psychiatrist), so that all aspects of a patient's condition are considered. Each member of Mayo's treatment team has special training in addiction treatment. The ratio of one staff therapist for every four patients ensures that you receive the individual attention necessary to accomplish your goals.

Whether you need intensive residential treatment or just occasional support, Mayo's addiction programs offer a level of service for every situation.
