No One Dies Alone

Volunteers are trained as vigil companions to hospitalized Mayo Clinic patients in their last 24 to 72 hours of life. These patients have no family or friends who can be with them at life's end. Volunteers may spend one to four hours with the patient, holding the patient's hand, reading to the patient and being a presence. Volunteers honor the life and dignify the passing of our patients who are alone.
