Become a Volunteer


A standard of personal responsibility and conduct is required of all Mayo Clinic volunteers to ensure that patients are afforded the highest quality consideration and service.

Volunteers must:

  • Be dependable and punctual in fulfilling duties
  • Accept supervision
  • Exhibit dignity, courtesy and consideration
  • Respect the privacy of patients
  • Adhere to the policies and procedures of Mayo Clinic
  • Be physically able to perform all duties
  • Be willing and able to communicate clearly with those we serve
  • Be compassionate, loyal and understanding
  • Be courteous and have a pleasant attitude

How to apply

Mayo Clinic invites you to become a volunteer. Anyone age 18 or older can apply. Mayo Clinic Young Volunteers, a special program for student volunteers between the ages of 14 and 18, also is available.

We are always looking for energetic and enthusiastic individuals willing to share their valuable time and talent. Each volunteer group offers specific services tailored to your wants, needs and availability.

If you're looking for a volunteer opportunity rich in history and longevity, please contact us. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
