College Student Summer Volunteer Program

Mayo Clinic's College Student Summer Volunteer Program provides students currently enrolled in an undergraduate college program with the opportunity to volunteer in both a clinic and hospital setting. This is an eight-week program and runs from Monday, June 3, 2024, through Friday, July 26, 2024.

Benefits of the program include:

  • Having worthwhile work opportunities that makes a difference in the care of people.
  • Exploring careers in healthcare.
  • Attending educational presentations.
  • Meeting people and making new friends.

The purpose of the program is to provide service to Mayo Clinic employees and Mayo Clinic patients. While we do not offer opportunities for clinical exposure or shadowing of hospital staff, volunteers learn about the healthcare environment through nonpatient and patient interaction service assignments.

Volunteers must be available to volunteer during regular business hours (Monday through Friday) and are assigned one weekly four-hour shift. Additional shifts may be added as space allows and at the discretion of the Volunteer Services department. Volunteers may not serve more than 12 hours a week.
