College Volunteer Program
The purpose of the College Volunteer Program is to provide a service to Mayo Clinic patients, guests and staff. College volunteers are not engaged in direct patient care and will not be permitted to engage in shadowing or observation of Mayo Clinic staff.
College volunteers include undergraduate, graduate and continuing education students who are 18 years or older with courses that change with each semester.
Applicants must be able to commit to a weekly four-hour shift (same day and time each week) for the entire semester. We will be unable to accommodate any schedule changes during the semester.
Volunteer positions are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are limited evening and weekend opportunities available at the Phoenix campus only.
Please note that:
- Volunteers are placed where the needs are greatest. We make every attempt to place volunteers in areas of personal interest during the days and times volunteers are available, but assignments cannot be guaranteed.
- Submission of an application does not guarantee placement into the program. This is because there are typically more students interested in volunteering than our program can accommodate.
We are no longer accepting applications for the fall 2014 semester. Please check back later in the year for details of the winter 2015 program.
